The Department of Biology graduate program at James Madison University offers many professional development opportunities including formal coursework, one-on-one mentorship, workshops, and career skills training. Our program provides students with a broad array of transferable skills. The program’s goal is to prepare future professionals through communication and teaching skills, professional networking, community engagement, and real-world problem solving. Approximately half our graduates go directly into the workforce and half to Ph.D. programs.
