Regional Affiliates
There are four Regional Affiliates of the Council of Graduate Schools: the Conference of Southern Graduate Schools; the Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools; the Northeastern Association of Graduate Schools; and the Western Association of Graduate Schools. The primary purpose of these organizations is to allow members to identify and address common challenges related to graduate study and research. Each Regional Affiliate may select one liaison to the CGS Board of Directors as a non-voting member. CGS staff attend meetings of the Regional Affiliates and may communicate directly with officers of the four organizations.

As the national voice for graduate education, CGS serves as a resource on issues regarding graduate education, research, and scholarship. CGS collaborates with other national stakeholders to advance the graduate education community in the policy and advocacy arenas.
CGS is an authority on global trends in graduate education and a leader in the international graduate community. Our resources and meetings on global issues help members internationalize their campuses, develop sustainable collaborations, and prepare their students for a global future.
