Summer Workshop and New Dean's Institute

Each July, CGS convenes the Summer Workshop and New Deans Institute, which combines fresh programming and interactive sessions on core issues and new trends in graduate education and research. Recent Summer Workshops have included sessions on promoting graduate student completion and success, developing fund-raising initiatives, and collecting and maintaining data to inform decision-making in the graduate school, among many others. Capped at 250 participants, the event offers many opportunities for networking, professional development, and discussions of examples and case studies.

    hello

Participants may also choose to enroll in the New Deans Institute, a day-long program immediately preceding the workshop. Led by CGS Board of Directors, staff, and other experts, the Institute provides an orientation for deans who are new or relatively new to the role of graduate dean or associate/assistant dean.
